PRP

What is PRP?

PRP, stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. Platelets and plasma are two of the four components in our blood and contain nutrient rich cells and proteins. They are believed to accelerate the bodies own growth and healing process, and when combined with treatments for the skin they increasing collagen and generating healthy skin cells. PRP enhances the benefits of those treatments and is also thought to diminish recovery time. PRP can be incorporated into microneedling treatments with Skin Pen and Morpheus8.

TREATMENT

PRP can be added on to Skin Pen microneedling and Morpheus8 treatments. It is done during the numbing process, so it does not take any longer or add on any additional time to your appointment.

The process of getting your PRP is done during your numbing. After the topical numbing is put onto the skin, your blood will be drawn; only a small amount of blood is needed so it's a quick process. Then, the blood is placed into a centrifuge where it is spun at a high speeds to separate the plasma from your blood. The plasma is either placed onto the skin during the microneedling process or after your Morpheus8 treatment. There is no additional down time and you can follow the same post procedure instructions as your treatment.
